Interactive News Format & Set Design

Not my usual day at the office on this one.  I was asked to rethink and redesign a nightly news program.  The brief had two goals: imagine a new way of presenting news that felt connected to the world physically and digitally, and design a set that would achieve this.  I conceived of a digital media hub that allowed stories to flow in and out of the space and gave presenters and contributors inside and outside the studio equal footing.  I also designed a presentation system and look and feel for the LED panels that would provide the windows to the outside world and link with virtual 3D content as part of 'explainer' pieces.  Finally, I conceived a generative, data-driven, graphics system that could provide endless abstract moving content for physical and virtual background screens based on time of day, story subjects and other live data sources.
