The Winter Olympics closing ceremony is a massive show. For the 2022 games, the organisers decided to go big on tech and cover the entire floor of the Beijing Olympic Stadium with the world's largest LED screen. 147 meters across and nearly 15K in pixels. We were asked by Balich Wonder Studio to conceive, design and deliver around 8 minutes of animated content for the floor, including a four minute dance duet that culminated in the reveal of the 2026 WInter Olympics logo. Led by the wonderful creative director (and my good friend) Ross Urien, I led the design team and worked with our animators, compositors and techops team to solve the myriad problems that come with such a huge screen for such a big show. Scary, but fun!
